New Indian restaurant to open in Lakenheath

A NEW Indian restaurant is to open in Lakenheath after being given the green light.

Plans to transform a former newsagent’ s shop in the High Street into the restaurant with a takeaway facility were approved by planning officers from Forest Heath District Council earlier this month.

Although the plans submitted by Jeub Ali were passed, objections were raised to the scheme by Lakenheath Parish Council over parking and traffic issues the development may cause.

The new restaurant and takeaway will open between 11am and 10pm, Monday to Friday, and 11am and 11pm on Saturdays.

A further planning application has been submitted by Mr Ali to open the restaurant on Sundays and bank holidays.
