Competition promises a photo-finish

THE NEWMARKET-based Injured Jockeys’ Fund (IJF) charity is looking for amateur photographers to provide the shots for its 2013 fundraising racing calendar.

Entrants are being invited to send in photos for judging in the 12-category competition between February and June with the top 12 being selected for the calendar. The overall winner will receive a VIP visit to the 2013 Cheltenham Festival.

Competition judges for the competition will include Channel 4 presenters, John Francome and Emma Spencer and 16-times champion jockey and IJF vice-patron, Tony McCoy, as well as award-winning sports photographer, Chris Smith.

Channel 4’s Morning Line will showcase some of the entries over the next five months and the winner will be announced on the show in June.

Further details, rules and regulations can be found on www.ijf.org.uk or contact Jeremy Zielinski, on 01638 662246.
