Cinema plan to mark jubilee

NEWMARKET Town Council is considering staging an open air cinema event in the town’s memorial gardens as part of the celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this summer.

Council staff have been in talks with the Cambridge Film Trust over proposals for two screens, one in the Memorial Hall showing a rolling programme of local archive footage, and the other in the gardens showing the main feature to be chosen by the council.
