I WOULD like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to John and his team at Fullers Bakery, in Soham, for saving my daughter's big day.
My daughter and her fiancé were getting married on September 13 and, as they are both in the Army and posted outside of UK, they had limited time to make arrangements so I was asked to sort the cake out. I arranged for a professional to make the cake
. However, when I went to pick it up two days before the wedding, I was totally devastated – it was a mess and so was I at this point. There was no way I could present that to her – and can you imagine trying to find a three tier wedding cake at such short notice?

We phoned Fullers Bakery and explained the situation. It was a miracle he understood me through my blubbing. I phoned them at 2pm on the Thursday but needed the cake by 10am on the Friday because we had to travel the day before to get to the wedding venue – Pontypridd, in Wales.

I went on Friday to pick it up and what a beautiful cake it was, too. It was exactly what she wanted. So, John and team, I don't know how I can ever thank you all enough for the understanding and compassionate way in which you treated me in my moment of desperation.

The cake was beautiful to look at and tasted equally as good – so again, a massive thank you.
