Shelter has been a blot on landscape for 30 years

AS A town and district councillor for the St Mary's ward, I would like to express my thanks to developer David Garrad for having the gumption to board up the disused bus shelter along Exning Road as he completes his building work to the property at the end of St Fabians Close.
Personally, I hope he knocks the shelter down and uses the recovered space as amenity land for the property that he is working upon.
This shelter has been a blot on the landscape for the last 30 years – it is in a poor state of repair and is covered in graffiti.
I understand it had previously been the location for a war memorial which is now kept safely at the Exning Road Club, almost opposite.
I think I am correct in saying that over recent years attempts have been made to determine the rightful owner of the land but these have been unsuccessful.
The town council has certainly been approached by the head of Newmarket College who wants it decommissioned and it must affect the value of the new property on the other side.
Hopefully, everybody will agree that the best course of action will be for it to be gone when the boards come down.
Go on David, be bold and do us all a favour.
