WITH reference to John Bone's column (Journal, April), I must agree with his comment that Burwell is one of the most active and successful villages for miles around.
I, too, applaud the efforts of the sports coaches and youth leaders who give so much of their valuable time to instil in the younger members of our community the spirit and values that we, the somewhat older, look to them to live by.

However, I must disagree with his view that instead of sports coaches and leaders we need more psychiatrists.

On the contrary, I would suggest that we, as a caring community, consider setting up REAL stocks in order to give those of us who disagree with their actions a chance to demonstrate this to the minuscule number of reprobates who plague this village with their anti-social behaviour.

John Bone is the last person I would have expected to offer succour to these individuals but then I suspect he might have been looking for a response from the silent majority.
