I AM a teacher at a Cambridge primary school and have used the buses to get to work, always finding they provided a good service.
However, when I visited Cambridge with my five-month-old daughter, I had a very different experience.
I checked on the Stagecoach website about taking buggies on board and I found the following statement: "Many of our buses have special zones wher
e buggies and shopping trolleys can be safely parked. Please feel free to use the fold-down seats so that you can sit next to your buggy."
When the bus arrived, I was told that I would have to remove my sleeping daughter and fold down the buggy. When I refused, I was told I couldn't get on.
I understand that it is not always possible to accommodate buggies or wheelchairs, but this is not stated anywhere on the Stagecoach website.

NewmarketI MUST point out to Richard Balfe, vice-chairman of the Newmarket Conservative Association, that the current cost of councillors in Suffolk is not "around £1 million" but well in excess of £2 million per year.
It is rather worrying that the Tories do not even know how much they are paying themselves.
Clearly they do not add up very well – nor, presumably, subtract, multiply or divide.
