Mess left by travellers says a lot about country

I READ with disgust the Journal's story on the mess, including human excrement, that three travelling families left behind on industrial premises in Newmarket last week.
It says a lot about the people who run this country that they have not had the right leadership qualities or good old-fashioned guts to deal with this kind of issue.
Who says it's acceptable for travellers to do this and where does the money come from to carry out the grizzly task of cleaning up after them?
I have been the victim of a deeply upsetting crime committed by memebers of the travelling community so I could be accused of bias but isn't it about time that someone had the courage and common sense to adopt the law in Ireland where these people are not allowed to do this?
While we are on the matter of common sense, who is it that thinks it is a good idea to have a bike race at 5.30pm on Saturday evening along the A11/A14?
Last Saturday, I saw two incidents that could have been fatal and numerous incidents of motorists, some towing caravans, taking evasive action.
I would love to meet the person who gives this event the final seal of approval and hear their rationale behind the decision-making process.
