It was nice to see people cleaning up Newmarket on the front page of the Journal last week, but when is someone going to do something about the High Street toilets?
My husband and I needed to use them recently but moved on – they are an absolute disgrace and a health hazard.

What must the visitors to our historic town think if they need to use them? I would have thought them the main priority in this day and age.

I realise we have new toilets in The Guineas but every time I have been in there one toilet is out of order – last time two – and the one remaining cubicle, apart from the one for the disabled, was dirty.

You would find it interesting to have a look at the new toilets in Haverhill. They are always immaculate as they have an attendant making sure of this.

If Haverhill can do it, why can't Newmarket?
