Changes are coming in spite of our opinions

AFTER reading Cllr Noble's letter in last week's Journal urging parents to make their views known regarding the proposed change from a three to a two-tier education system, we would like to express our anger.
As parents, we have attended meetings, emailed councillors and MPs, written letters to the Journal, and stood in the school car park collecting signatures against this proposal.

Only one parent we spoke to agreed with the change to the two-tier system, and Newmarket Town Council supported us.

Nevertheless, these changes seem to be coming regardless of our opinions. Parents have already strongly voiced their opposition but we cannot help but wonder if our voice is being heard.

Furthermore, if Suffolk County Council wishes to understand how parents, teachers, children and many others feel about our middle schools, it only needed to have attended the St Felix Regeneration concert. Then it would not be asking us again.
