Vera Starling
THE funeral of Vera Starling, of Isleham, took place at the High Street Baptist Church in the village on February 24.
Mrs Starling, who was 80, had been ill for three years and died at Lily House care home in Ely on February 14.
Born in Soham, she attended the Clay Street School before working as a maid at Soham Grammar School.
In later years and while bringing up the family, she worked on the land before employment at Magnetic Devices (later known as PED) for several years until her retirement.
She enjoyed watching cricket at Isleham and playing carpet bowls and bingo.
Widowed in 1988 when husband Robert died, she leaves a son, Brian, a daughter, Marilyn, two grandchildren, Alison and Michelle, and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Rebecca.
