Thomas Hart
THE funeral of Thomas Henry Hart was held at St Mary's Church, Mildenhall, on February 23 following his sudden death at his home in Mildenhall on February 8. He was 76.
Born in Barton Mills, he decided as a young man to join the Army and served five years with the Suffolk Regiment, three of which saw active serice in Malaya in the early 1950s.
He had a lifelong hobby of breeding birds, especially British finches and canaries, and over the years had won various prizes at bird shows.
Mr Hart is survived by his wife Maureen, six children, 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a younger brother.
The service was taken by the Rev Sue Leathley and at the graveside a Suffolk Regiment Standard was lowered and a bugler played The Last Post.
