Taking life in my hands to pay poppy respects

I HAVE written to the chairman of Forest Heath and Richard Spring MP regarding the new traffic arrangements around the Newmarket Clock Tower which seem to have settled down satisfactorily.

However, my reason for raising this point is to draw the attention to every improvement made.

I went to plant my Poppy in the Memorial Garden but sad to say with my

life in my hands, along with a lady with a pram, as there is no provision made for a safe crossing has been made from the High Street, likewise my return crossing to Old Station Road.

May I ask if this precarious position can be rectified before any unnecessary accident happens.
