YOUNG performers at a Newmarket school have been named as runners up in a performing arts competition.
All Saints Primary School pupils won £500 in the competition by Lands’ End UK, which promotes the performing arts in schools.
Judges said they were impressed by Rachel Bacon, the music co-ordinator at the Vicarage Road school, whose entry included a choir and mock wedding.
In a letter to the school, Margaret Blackburn, of Lands’ End UK, said: “We had a fantastic response to this competition with entries coming in from all over the country.
“When it came to judging, a number of entries really stood out. We particularly enjoyed hearing of Miss Bacon’s dedication to your school’s choir.”
