Problem of race has been created

Ahsan Mohammed, chairman of Newmarket's Mosque Committee, tells us that "the Muslim community will triple over the next two years".

He rightly shows concern that "Newmarket may not have the infrastructure to cope with this development".

As the Muslim newcomers are predominantly employed by the racing industry (whatever happened to the Britsh and Irish stable lads?), perhaps they and their many dependents will be housed in the proposed housing development on Lord Derby's land.

However, this will not happen in the short term, so in the meantime, the expanding Muslim population means further pressure on housing, schooling and NHS services.

When we had a hundred thousand or so immigrants scattered around Britain, it was our natural reaction to make them welcome.

However, the Lib-Lab-Con parties all stand guilty of allowing what was an innocuous trickle to become a flood.

Above all, the Lib-Lab-Con – but not neccessarily the immigrants themselves – have allowed a race problem to grow in a country where one did not exist.
