NEWMARKET JOURNAL FEB 2011. Corals in Mildenhall - opening of revamped store following 40,000 refit. GRAHAM CLARK JOURNAL REPORTER DOING 100 CHARITY BET PICTURED WITH MANAGER ADRIAN BYFORD AND SHOP STAFF RAISING MONEY FOR MACMILLAN.

STAFF at the Mildenhall branch of Coral bookmakers have been getting into the community spirit.

Earlier this month staff launched their new link-up with charity partners Macmillan Cancer Support to coincide with the official opening of a £40,000 refurbishment at the Market Place shop.

“We wanted the shop to have a more updated feel,” said Sue Barber, area manager.

“The aim was to make it more comfortable for customers and from the feedback we have received we have done just that.”

To celebrate the new partnership, customers had the chance to participate in a range of games throughout the day, while collection buckets were placed around the shop to get the fundraising efforts rolling.

l In a bid to give the appeal an early boost, Journal reporter Graham Clark, on the left, was given a £100 charity bet by the bookmakers. Unfortunately his selection, Archie Rice, failed to deliver, after only finishing sixth.
