Maurice Mason

THE funeral of Maurice Mason, of Church Lane, Kennett, took place at St Nicholas' Church, Kennett, on June 2.

Mr Mason, who was 87, died at his home on May 26.

Born in Herringswell, he attended the local school and had worked as a lorry driver for MacLaren's, a forklift truck driver for Bank's and also for some time at Sprite's caravan factory in Newmarket.

During the war years he served with the Royal Artillery.

A keen gardener, Mr Mason is survived by his wife Joan, and leaves a son Barry, daughter Christine, six grandchildren, Shelly, Jamie, Justin, Darren, Peter and Shaun and three great-grandchildren Mia, Toby, and Ellie.

The service was taken by the Rev Mike Banyard.

Family mourners were: Joan Mason (widow), Barry Mason, Christine and Peter King (rep Jamie), Darren Mason and Emma, Peter and Shaun Mason, Shelley and Simon Harris, Justin King and Sarah, Ron and Muriel Ashen, Martin Ashen (Katherine and family) and Rachel Ashen (Paul Clark).

Other mourners were: Marge Last (family), Mrs M Deary, Sharon Fellowes (Bill Fellowes), Robert Fellowes, George Fellowes, Rosemary Tulloch, Kevin Pryke, Daphne Kidd, Muriel Byam (family), Meg Gilbert, Pat Gilbert (Andrew Gilbert), Norma and John Fitzgerald (Dorothy Bell), Mr and Mrs Kevin Anderson, Dorothy Ball (David and Stephen Ball), Mr and Mrs N Baker, Shirley Francis, Gill and Peter King, Mr and Mrs K G Pepper, Val Brown (Roy Brown), Rita Oot, Gill Minns (John Minns), Mr and Mrs Nigel How, Mr and Mrs R Wallis, Lorraine Smith, Richard James, Eliot Parker (Hilary Parker), Margaret and Robin Watson, Marlene Martin (Terry Martin), Mrs W Lorello (Shaun and Gayle), Geoffrey and Mary Greaves (Justin Greaves, Pat Claydon and Linda Dupuis), John King, George and Pat Hurst, and Jack Gardner.
