Marjorie Curtis

MARJORIE Joan Curtis, of Market Street, Fordham, died at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, on February 4. She was 85 and had been ill for almost a year.

Born in Newmarket, she had lived in Fordham most of her life. She attended the village primary school and was a shop assistant at Ken's Stores in Market Street.

In her earlier years she enjoyed going out for day trips and holidays with her late husband Claude, family and friends.

She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and housework and she liked doing crossword puzzles, watching television and being with family and friends.

Widowed for several years, she leaves a daughter Carol, granddaughter Julie and grandson Paul.

Her funeral took place at West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, on February 23 and Carol Taylor officiated.

Family and other mourners were: Mr and Mrs C Bradley, Julie Bradley, Nigel Bryant, Paul Bradley, Dr Stephen Taylor, Mrs J Webb (rep Mr J Webb), Gladys and Dick Hatley (Jack and Hazel Standley), Mr and Mrs Ted Taylor (Ruby Osmond), Lionel and Mary Neal, Jan Woollard (John), John Curtis, Yvonne Coombes, Mr and Mrs Dunnett, Michelle Dunnett, Anthea Bain (Mary Bain), Stephen Hunt (Mrs Hunt), Pippa Legg, Jackie Webb, Campbell Pearson and Doris Salmon.
