Letter: ‘Bins are a perfect example of waste’

Referring to the story on page 2 of last week’s Journal New Look Litter Bins.

I would just like to say how that it is such a perfect example of how our tax money is being wasted on things that we just don’t need, and we have things that would, and most definitely should, take priority.

The employment title of some of the people in the story - Forest Heath District Council’s waste management team, confirms that they’ve certainly achieved their job- titled goal, wasted money on unnecessary things.

£26,000 is the perfect wage for someone and would cover a year of employment especially with unemployment figures we have at the moment and, at the end of the day, who really is bothered what their rubbish is put in as long as its taken away.

Russell Bradnam,

Periman Close,

Newmarket.
