Letter: Astonished at murder trial

I was astonished to hear the prosecution in the Aamir Siddiqi murder trial describe his murder as an act of “staggering incompetence”.

Really? Had these two men murdered the intended victim would this have shown that they were indeed “competent” murderers ?

Had they carried out a “competent” murder, would this have reduced their sentences ?
