Generous Rosy, 10, boosts hospice
CARING primary school pupil Rosalind (Rosy) Ramos has donated nearly £200 to charity after asking for donations rather than presents for her 10th birthday.
Rosy, who attends St Mary’s Church of England Academy in Mildenhall, raised the cash after staging a disco for her entire year at the Trinity Avenue school earlier this month.
As a result of her efforts, Rosy handed over £165 to St Nicholas Hospice Care, Bury St Edmunds.
The charity is close to Rosy’s heart as it was a place her grandmother spent time two years before she was born.
“Rosy never knew her gran but she is very aware of the hospice,” said her father Gideon Brimmer.
“I’m not quite sure where she got her generous nature from but she is very keen on helping others. She is already thinking about what she can do next to raise funds. She is fantastic.”
Welcoming the three figure donation was the charity’s community fundraiser Sue Long.
She said: “It is so touching to hear a young person with a generous spirit. T
“The money raised through Rosy’s kind act will be put to very good use.”
