Edmund Tabraham
THE funeral took place on October 22 at Gorleston Crematorium, Norfolk, of Edmund Hugh Tabraham, who died peacefully in his sleep on October 8, aged 96.
Prior to 1987, when he and his wife Lorna moved to Beccles, Mr Tabraham had lived in the Newmarket area for 40 years and had taken an active role in local organisations, including Exning Cricket Club, Exning Tennis Club, Newmarket Day Centre and Newmarket Ramblers Association.
From 1947 to 1972, he taught woodwork, metalwork and technical drawing at Soham Grammar School where he was also careers master and deputy headmaster.
The service at the crematorium was led by the Rev Joan Evans of Loddon, Norfolk, and mourners included: Mrs J Jeffery, Ms E Jeffery, Mr M Jeffery, Mr R Holmes, Mr and Mrs I Willats (rep Mr and Mrs R Willats, Adam and Rory), Mrs H Erridge (Mr P Erridge, Megan and Dawn), Mrs R Parkes (Mrs J Cornbloom), Mr W Seager, Mr and Mrs D Willats, Mr P Jeffery, Ms E Collyer, Mr and Mrs J Taylor and Miss J Bennett.
Ex-pupils and staff from Soham Grammar School were represented by Mr J Howe, Mr R Armitage, Mr R Doe, Mr R Drake, Mr M Goodchild, Mr A Pitchford, Mr B Thorby and Mr C Wain.
Among others present were: Mr and Mrs R Cater, Mrs G Dover, Mr and Mrs H Dover, Mr and Mrs I Huggins, Mrs K McCabe, Mr and Mrs J Ogden, and Ms S Rice and staff from Saxon House, Loddon.
