Doris Wright

THE funeral of Doris Wright took place at West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, on April 15.

Miss Wright, who was known as Dot, died in Kingfisher House, Newmarket, on April 4 after a short illness. She was 87.

Born in Barrow and educated at the village school, she became a carer for young children on leaving school. As the youngest of a large family she spent most of her life home-keeping and as a carer for parents and older siblings.

Her interests centred mainly around the home, cooking and knitting, and she enjoyed whist drives, bingo and joining in village life.

She had lived her whole life in Barrow until she moved to Kingfisher House care home in December 2007.

She leaves two nieces and two nephews.

The service was taken by Father Peter MacLeod-Miller.
