Don't price us out of much-needed exercise

AS WE get older we are encouraged to keep fit and active so, a couple of times a week, we have been using the Active Leisure Card for a free swim at the Newmarket pool.

Now we hear that free swims are to finish at the end of the month and we must pay 2.10 each time. We are also told that the under 16s will be able to swim for just 1 in the school holidays which is very good but why can't us over 60s have the same consideration?

When we go for a swim we only go for about half an hour at a time so it works out quite expensive.

We are told we can pay 18 a month by standing order but we do not go often enough to make it viable.

Surely as the pool is open and staffed anyway it would be better to let us oldies who have paid a life time of rates and taxes, have a swim at the same rates as the teenagers rather than price it so we do not get the exercise we need.
