Company is doing well
I refer to the article by Geoff Griggs about Hopkins Homes and the proposal for the former allotment site in Fordham Road, Soham.
As you will be aware, we have recently commenced our public consultation exercise for the proposals and we are pleased so far with the interest that this has generated.
We are, however, disappointed with his comment: "The other main concern, of course, is the continued solvency of the company."
His inference was that it is written factually and suggests that he has knowledge or information that the company is at risk of trading as a going concern.
We are concerned that Mr Griggs made this comment without substantiating it. If he had, he would have hopefully found it newsworthy to celebrate having a successful award-winning developer investing in the community.
Hopkins Homes is a very well-financed and well-managed company and in a recent survey its commercial soundness was highlighted.
We are also pleased to report that we are continuing to achieve record levels of house sales in the current difficult market conditions with an exceptional first quarter performance.
We put this down to both our management competence and our success in creating sought- after homes in sought-after locations.
