Bethanie and Lewis Moore are organising a Christmas fayre to raise funds for a Brazilian charity for the homeless.

A brother and sister from Isleham have teamed up to raise money for a Brazilian charity for the homeless.

Lewis Moore, 17, and his 21-year-old sister, Bethanie, will host a Christmas craft and gift fair on Sunday, December 2, in Newmarket’s Catholic Church.

It will take place from 1.30pm to 5pm and feature stalls selling Christmas gifts, a raffle, tombola, face painting, games and refreshments.

Money raised will be donated to CAFOD, a project set up to help 500 homeless families in Brazil who have been forced out of a disused hotel where they have been living for 10 years.

It will also fund the siblings’ trip to Rio de Janeiro for World Youth Day 2013, a gathering for young Catholics from all over the world.

“This charity is very close to our hearts,” said Bethanie. “As we are going out to Rio to attend World Youth Day, we felt it was very important to support this cause.”

They need to raise a total of £4,000 and have already raised about half that amount.
