Church’s new priest installed by bishop

RESIDENTS in Mildenhall welcomed their new associate priest at a special licensing ceremony on Wednesday.

A packed congregation at St Mary’s Church saw the Rev Rosemary Rycraft installed as the new associate priest by the Rt Rev Nigel Stock, the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.

Working with the Rev Sue Leathley, Mrs Rycraft will help to serve six churches in and around Mildenhall.

Mrs Rycraft, who lives in Beck Row, moved to the area following a spell working at churches in Oxfordshire.

“Having spent part of my childhood in Mildenhall, this is a bit like my homecoming,” she said.

“I am really looking forward to the challenge and meeting as many parishioners as I can.”
