A spooky party for mini monsters and tiny terrors was held at Newmarket’s Memorial Hall on Friday.

Children dressed in their scariest outfits and enjoyed lots of ghoulish games.

The hall’s main stage was transformed into a creepy corridor which children walked through, while others grabbed their broomsticks for a game of witch hockey.

Equestrian artist Jacquie Jones also attended the party, reading scary stories to children. There was also a raffle with top prizes up for grabs.

Children also had the chance to carve their own pumpkins while the parents enjoyed a drink at a licensed bar.

Pat Bastable, Newmarket Town Council’s venues administrator, said the evening was a massive success.

“The event was really well attended and it was a fun evening for the children who had a great time, as well as their parents.

“The mayor was also in attendance and lots of councillors turned up to offer their support.

“We are definitely going to doing it again next year as it was so successful.”

Money raised from the event will go towards funds for the town’s carnival.
