Book your seat for Gredley Christmas lunch

The countdown to Christmas has started and today local pensioners aged over 70 can book their seats for the special Christmas lunch provided by Stetchworth-based benefactor Bill Gredley.

This year’s lunch will be on Wednesday, December 12, and Thursday, December 13, and will be held at Tattersalls, the home of Newmarket’s world-famous bloodstock auctioneers.

Around 100 pensioners who were on a priority waiting list having missed out on last year’s lunch because it was oversubscribed should have already been contacted by the Gredley Charitable Trust, which leaves 600 places to fill over the two days of seasonal celebration.

Guests will be treated to traditional Christmas fare with a vegetarian option and there will be some surprise entertainment.

Because the event is so popular, applicants are asked to get their application forms filled in and returned as soon as possible.

Guests must provide their own transport to Tattersalls and tables cannot be reserved in advance, so groups of friends wishing to be seated together should try to arrive at the venue together.

Pensioners who live within a five-mile radius of Newmarket clock tower are eligible to apply for tickets and each application should be accompanied by a £1 registration fee.

Cheques should be made payable to the Gredley Charitable Trust and sent to Unex House, Church Lane, Stetchworth. Pensioners with specific dietary requirements are asked to attach details to their coupon.
