Arthur Jennings
THE funeral of Arthur Bertrum Jennings took place at St Mary's Church, Burwell, on June 23. Mr Jennings, who was fondly known as "Skiver", died at his home in Baker Drive, Burwell, on June 13. He was 82.
Born and living all his life in the village, he worked on the land during the war years and from 1969 until retirement was employed by Webb's of Exning working on the agricultural equipment.
He enjoyed gardening, followed by social time at the Burwell Royal British Legion where he was a member, and living next to Ness Court often joined the residents for Sunday lunch and a chat.
A bachelor, he leaves his brother Eric. He survived two other brothers, Les and George (Darkie).
The service was taken by the Rev Canon Stephen Earl.
