Are there many of us left?

I HAVE just had my 94th birthday and would like to know if there are any other ex-service personnel from the Second World War still living locally.

I have a very good friend, John Taylor, who is 95 years old and was a captain in the Cambridgeshire Regiment. He lives in Fordham and I go to see him regularly.

I started my training in April 1940 at Bury St Edmunds and was demobbed in Trieste, Italy, in March 1946. During this time I served with the Suffolk Regiment in North Africa, India, Iraq, Salerno, Anzio, Tripoli, Italy, with the 1st, 5th 8th and 10th Armies.

I have more detailed information I can provide if anyone is interested.
